Mr. Mugoo himself.....face 22

face22, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

Meet Mr. Mugoo himself, aka Frank. After years and years of working as a cook at other restaurants and not getting anywhere in the companies, he decided to opened up his own restaurant. He has 3 boys, who nicked named him Mugoo. 5 years ago he opened his own restaurant and used the nick name his kids gave him as the name of the restaurant. I asked him if there was something that people would be surprised to know about it, it turns out he is a creative writer.

Thank you Mr. Mugoo for taking the time for my 100 faces project.

Meet Kim, Face 21

face21, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

Kim has been working in the restaurant business for 8 years with 5 of those years at Mugoos. Before the restaurant life she was a manager at an apartment complex for 10 years. She moved from New York to Florida 14 years ago. She said the one odd thing about her is if you just look at her you wouldn't know she was good with kids, she has 3 of her own.

Thank you so much Kim for being part of my 100 faces project.

Meet Becky....Face 20

face20, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

It was Mother's Day when I met Becky, naturally I asked her if she was a Mom. Becky has two kids ages 24 and 26. I hope she didn't work too hard on Mother's Day. She has been working in the restaurant business for 25 years, with 4 of those years at Mugoos. Moved from Northern New York to Florida 6 years ago, Becky is also a Medical assistant and a phlebotomist. One odd thing that others might not know about Becky is she is a quilter.

Thank you Becky for letting me take your photo and for answering my questions for my 100 faces project.

Meet Brenda, face 19.

face19, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

I sat next to Brenda today at breakfast, well that was until breakfast came then I had to move over next to my kids to cut their pancakes for them. I found out she is a Dental assistant, started out 32 years ago and grew to love it. She moved to Florida 27 years ago from New Jersey. Has been meeting up for these Sunday breakfasts for 5 about 6 years.

Thank you Brenda for letting me take your photo for my 100 faces project. It was nice to meet you.

Meet Bob! Face 18.

face18, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

I went to breakfast with my Mother and her friends today and met a few more of her friends. This is Bob. When I told Bob he was going to be face 18, he said "I always wanted to be 18 again". I took out my little note book to write down a few things about him and I said, "your name is Bob right?" He said "yes, you spell it B O B". He just moved to Florida 4 months ago from "the land of cheese" also known as "behind the Cheddar curtain". He is retired, after 38 years of working on the rail road as a rail traffic controller. He is also the brother of one of my parent's friend, Al.

Thank you Bob for letting me take your photo for my 100 faces project. It was nice meeting you.

Meet Face 17...ED....

Face17, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

A few days ago I took my kids on a field trip to a local florist. They didn't know what a florist was, so I took them to the one I knew they would love. Sherwood Florist. As soon as we pulled up they loved the building. We walked around inside for a few minutes I showed them some flower arrangements and we could see them making the arrangements behind the curtain. One of the ladies working there told us about the nursery in the back. The only nursery my kids know is a baby nursery. So I took them back there and that is where we met Ed, an employee for the Sherwood Florist Nursery for 20 years When I heard that I knew he would know the answer to a question that my 5 year old asked me a few days ago. "Why don't we have butterflies in our yard". So we asked Ed what plants attract butterflies. He took us around and pointed out so many plants. I don't remember all the names but I did take pictures of a few of them so I could remember the names. Here are some plants that attract butterflies: Shrimp Plant, Pentas, Porterweed, and the Lantana.

Thanks Ed for letting me take your photo for my 100 faces {telling stories} project and thank you for teaching my kids and myself about plants.

Face 16....Meet Tyson....

Face16, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

While leaving Publix this afternoon my kids pointed out a fire truck pulling up into the parking lot. They started waving to the truck as it passed. My daughter wanted to get out of the shopping cart and look at the truck. So I put my groceries away and walked over to the fire truck. The firemen where just getting out of the truck and asked if my kids would like to see the truck. This is when I thought to myself , face 16!

So here is face 16.....meet Tyson. Tyson showed my kids inside the truck, and asked if my kids wanted to sit on the front for a picture. My normally talkative kids froze up with all the excitement and only my oldest stood in front of the truck.

A fireman for 6 years now, he was a paramedic for 10 years but switched jobs for the benefits and work. I then asked him if being a fireman is as exciting as little kids think. He said it is except for the 3 am wake up calls. Thank you for taking the time to talk to my kids, letting me take your portrait for my 100 faces project, and for being a fireman.

Meet Josh, face 15....

face15, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

Jeff, face 14, had a friend out there skim boarding with him. So naturally there is face 15. So I would like you to meet Josh.

Josh has been skim boarding for about 4 years now, he is a concrete finisher that lives in this area (Spring Hill / Weeki Wachee). I asked him, like I did his friend Jeff, what was one strange thing people don't know about him and he said "I can skim board on my belly without a board". I should of asked to see that, but my cameras battery died.

face 14....Meet Jeff.....

face14, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

My oldest son saw some people skim boarding while we where at the beach. We went out to the area they where at and right away he showed my kids a star fish that was out there. I would of taken a picture of the star fish but I was running low on my battery on my camera and I wanted to make sure I had enough left to take photos of them skim boarding.

This is Jeff, he is a newbie to the skim boarding this was only his 4th time. He is an aluminum contractor and also works at the Walmart Distribution Center. I asked him what is something strange that someone might not know about him and he said "I'm a Mud Digger". I found out that means he likes to go mudding.

Meet Jessica and Austin, Faces 12 & 13!

face12&13, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

I was sitting on the beach tonight at Pine Island, in Weeki Wachee Florida. When I saw a small group of people dressed too nice to be just there to watch the sunset. I then realized that they where about to get married. I waited until they finished before approaching them to ask if they would like to be part of my 100 faces project.

Jessica and Austin have been dating for 10 months, and both of them said that they always wanted a beach wedding. They are from Indiana visiting some family.

I didn't want to ask too many question so they can enjoy the sunset. I wish them the best. Thank you Jessica and Austin for letting me take your pictures for my 100 faces {telling stories} project.

Face 11! Meet Frank....

face11, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

For years now I have been driving by this tattoo shop, seeing this really nice bike out in front of it. Well today I saw the owner of the bike sitting on it and I had to just turn around and ask him if I could take his picture with the bike for my 100 faces {telling stories} project. At first he said I could just take a photo of the bike, but I explained my project and he got back on the bike and posed for a quick photo. His name is Frank and is a tattoo artist at Natural Art Tattoo in Spring Hill, Florida. He has been a tattoo artist for 8 years. While talking to him I told him how I love tattoos and that I was just too chicken to get one of my own, because of the pain. He told me that it isn't really painful, it is more annoying, like a sunburn that someone is rubbing and just when you want them to stop they do it again. Still don't think I will get a tattoo, but I love to photograph them.

Thank you Frank for letting me take your picture for my project.

Face Ten! Meet Jim.

face10, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

Before walking into chili's to start my shift I saw Jim sitting outside talking to Vanessa (one of my friends from chili's). When I asked him if I could take his picture for my 100 faces project and handed him my card, he did what any proud parent would do. Told me about his daughter and how she has a great eye for photography. While talking to Jim I learned that he moved to Florida back in 1980 and has lived in this area (Spring Hill) for 2 1/2 years. An interesting fact about him is that he was once a stunt double for Gene Hackman in a movie called The Gypsy Moths.

Thanks Jim for being face 10 of my 100 faces project!

The middle picture I took when I was leaving work for the night.
I can't believe I am already at face 10!

Face Nine, Meet Ruth....

face9, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

First thing I asked Ruth was if I could take her picture and ask a few questions for my 100 faces project. She said yes and told me that this wasn't the first time someone asked her to do this for a project. While talking to Ruth I found that she moved to Florida from New York 52 years ago. Right after telling me this she added that it was 52 years ago yesterday (March 6). She has worked for Walmart for the last 6 years. I wanted to know if she still visits family or friends in new york. That is when I found out all her familly is down here and she has only made 2 trips back to New York to visit friends in 52 years.
Thank you Ruth for letting me add you to my project as face number 9.

Meet Kelly, Face #8

face8, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

I also met Kelly today while I was visiting my brother. She was born and raised Florida, so she, like myself and my brother, didn't move very far. I asked Kelly a few questions and found that Kelly is a very, very busy lady. As a Director at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, a photographer (her site earthgirlphotography.com) and a full time student majoring in Political science.

Thank you Kelly for being face number 8.

Meet Nikki, Face #7

face7, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

I had to switch these few around here just so I could put Nikki on as face #7. I forgot what number I was on and wrote down face #5 for my one from walmart then when I got to Nikki I was still off on my numbers. You will see why I wanted to switch them in a minute here.

I met Nikki while I was visiting my brother, she lives in the same apartment complex that they jokingly called their own "melrose place" When I told her she was face number seven she looked really excited because seven is her favorite number. I asked how long has she lived in Florida and what I found out was she moved here from Illinois seven years ago. The next thing I wanted to know was what she does for a living. Well she has been teaching music for seven years, two years of high school music and the last five years has been elementary music, which she added that a few weeks ago she had seven flute players but two just quit. So with all the sevens that kept popping up I just had to keep her at face number seven. Thank you Nikki for being face number 7!

Meet Bob, Face six!

Meet Bob, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

We saw Bob today on what I call my field trips with my kids. I take my two younger children out somewhere they can hopefully learn something and today they learned a lot about crabs thanks to Bob.
He is out at the pier at bay port catching crabs about 5 days a week. He doesn't go to the pier on the weekends, he says it is too busy then, I know what he is talking about on that. Last year I tried to take my kids to the pier on a weekend and there wasn't a spot to park near the peir.
Anyway, Bob showed us how to tell if the crab is male or female, he also showed us the two types of crab traps he has. Thank you Bob for the great learning experance for myself and my kids and thank you for being face number six on my photography project.

Face Five. Meet Jennifer

face5, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

I hope I get all of this right. I normally have a small pad of paper to write things down when people are talking to me for this project. I didn't think I was going to take one of these today, had planned to go around on Wednesday to find a few faces, but any way here it goes.

Meet Jennifer. I have found out that she has worked for Publix for 7 years. She meet her husband, Mike (who is a Kraft Salesman) while working at Publix in Ocala. They married last year, live in Inverness and now they are expecting their first child in April.

Thank you Jennifer for helping me out there and thank you for letting me add you to my 100 faces project.

Meet Joann! Face #4

face4, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

I was picking up my smash cake for a photo session and started talking to Joann, I found out she once worked at the same Publix I did (Bayonette Point Publix at 19 and 52), but we didn't work there at the same time. Joann retired from Publix after 14 years, then recently started back up again at the new Publix near me.

Thank you so much Joann, you are helping me reach my goal of 100 faces.

I will be busy for the next few days so my next face should be posted after the weekend.

Meet Chris.....face 3

face3, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

I saw Chris while he was taking sunset photos. I thought to myself....face #3, another photographer! I found out he once lived in Florida but he now lives in Ireland, he is here visiting with friends. I asked if he was a photographer, it turns out that photography is just a hobby of his.

Thank you Chris for allowing me to take your picture to add to my project. I hope you enjoy your vacation in Florida and have a safe trip back home.

Face Two! Meet Gary...

face2, originally uploaded by Olivia Williams Photography.

I noticed him when my middle child asked me what he was doing. So I told my son about the metal detector and him being only 5 he wanted to know what someone would find with a metal detector . So we went up to him to ask what has he found with his metal dector. He told us the only things he has found with his metal dector have been little match box cars and coins.

Thank you so much Gary for letting me take your picture for my project. It was nice talking to you and your wife.

The first photo on the left I took without him knowing, the middle photo is from his fun house that he was working at and the last photo of him is after I asked if I could take his picture...well sort of asked I said "Hi, can I?" then pointed at my camera then at him...he said "sure" then sat down. I didn't say much to him just took a picture said "Thanks" and left. I will try next time to find out a little more about my subject and pose them. I think I made him nervous because of the way he is holding his one hand.

About the title of this project, my personal project was always going to be 100 Faces, but thanks to Sara Patton, another hideout photographer, who came up with the name for the challenge on the hideout, I changed my personal project name to 100 Faces{telling stories}.

I started this project not only because of the hideout challenge, but because it will strengthen me as a photographer and a person.
